Library

The library is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Before school we are open for book check out, reading, studying, printing and table activities.

We are open during lunch once you have finished eating.

Students may visit during class with a pass from your teacher.

Passes: Students must have a library pass from their classroom teacher in order to visit during class. Passes are not needed during a class visit, before school, or during lunch.

Sign In: Students must sign in with their student ID number upon entry unless visiting with a class.

Food/Drinks: No food or drinks are allowed in the library.

Printing: Students may print in the library if they have a print punch card. Print cards can be purchased on the schools webstore. Once they are purchased they will be delivered to your Language Arts classroom.

Cell Phones: Cell phones should be left in the classroom when students visit the library.

Computer Use: Library computers are for academic use only. Inappropriate use will result in loss of computer privileges.

Checkout: Students may check out three books at a time for a period of three weeks. We hope that students will return it at the correct time so that others may have a turn reading that book.

Renewal: Books may be renewed once if not on hold for another student.

Return: Books may be returned to the library at anytime and it does not require you to sign in at the desk.

Overdue Books: Books are marked overdue once the 3 week period is over, but there is not a fine for turning in a book that is overdue. We have a 3 week check out policy and hope that students adhere to the schedule so that multiple students can read each book each year. Once the school year ends, if your child has not returned a book checked out to them the item will be marked as Lost and a replacement fee will be charged. If you find the book, just return it and there will be no fee. If you cannot find the book, parents can request that the fee be added to School Cash online by emailing the librarian. Fees follow students from year to year and school to school.

Damaged Books: Books that are wet or damaged beyond repair must be paid for in full.

Students may login to the card catalog through their SSO to see what books they have currently checked out.

The new district policy as of October 2023 is that parents will receive an email stating what books their child has checked out. This is just an information email. You can change your notification settings in your Parent Access account.

How to turn of notifications

1. Login to Parent Access, if you do not have an account you can create one.
2. Select the blue notification buttons.
3. You will see the option to turn off/on Daily Email Notifications. You can change your preferences anytime. Changes may take up to 72 hours.
